Hi there! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for stopping by!
How long have you been a Virtual Assistant?
I’ve been a full-time VA for a little over 5 years.
What inspired you to start Virtual Admins Plus? How has it evolved?
I was working for a major real estate website company, and they downsized most of their sales staff, me included! So, on a wing and a prayer (literally!), I decided to see if a business enhancing real estate agent’s existing websites could work. After several hundred phone calls to local agents, I had my first appointment…and my first client. She is still a client today too! As I increased my client base, I knew that in order to stay competitive, I had to offer more services. So, in a few years, I’ve gone from just enhancing websites to a full menu of virtual assistant services with clients all over the country and two in the UK.
When and why did you establish the National Association of Christian Virtual Assistants (NACVAS)?
I had a client a couple of years ago who was a Christian, and it was nice to chat with him about his work and also about his faith. It was at that time when I started to search for a Christian VA organization. I didn’t find anything, so I decided to start the National Association of Christian Virtual Assistants. We’ve grown slowly but steadily since we went “live” back in September of 2009, and I look forward to continuing to serve other Christian VA’s in the coming months and years.

There are many VA forums and associations; what makes NACVAS different from other online forums?
I think we’re different because we are on the same “page”! It’s nice to not only give business advice and share ideas, but to say “I’ll pray for you” when another member is going through a rough spot or needs some extra support. It’s all above giving of ourselves and giving back for His greater glory.
How do you plan to help empower members to grow professionally and spiritually?
We’ve got lots of ideas coming to fruition in the coming months, so I’m very excited. We recently sent out a survey to all of our members, asking them what they like, what they found helpful, what they’d like to see more of, etc. So, the wheels are in motion! We plan to offer more services that will benefit our members’ business and increase their customer base. We plan to start offering online webinars for both business and spiritual growth. And we’re redesigning our website to add more content and more resources.
How will you incorporate social media into the NACVAS experience?
We want to continue growing our Facebook Fan page and post helpful content there. We’d like to sponsor some contests too in order to make it fun and exciting. I certainly hope that we can work to be “the” place that Christian VA’s know they have a home.
How do you plan on getting the word out to Christian business owners looking for Virtual Assistants?
We continue to market via email to Christian business owners, and part of our plans for growth include some joint ventures with other Christian business organizations. Between email, social media, articles, and advertising, we hope that people will turn more to us and our members when they are looking for a virtual assistant to hire.
Where do you see the NACVAS in the next 2 years?
NACVAS will be a flourishing website with members all over the country meeting other VA’s, sharing info, helping each other, growing their businesses…and Christian business owners coming to us and hiring quality VA’s. I truly believe that “where two of you are gathered…” has a place in our organization!
What is your favorite scripture or biblical principle in which you apply to business?
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast and unmovable; always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)

Tahneesha, I didn't know about the National Association of Christian VA's; this is fantastic! I am definitely checking it out!
Hi Pam! Yes, NACVAS was established last year and is slowly growing. I know Ann is working hard at creating new ideas to make it an enjoyable experience for Christian Virtual Assistants and further its growth.
