Hi there! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for stopping by!
Unfortunately, a few months ago my WordPress website was
hacked. The same month several pages of website content were copied. These events have given me the opportunity to share what I have learned with others. Look out for another post in the near future that will address how to deal with copyright infringement. Today, I will discuss website security.
Below are 3 quick tips to help you secure your website.
- Always update your WordPress blog or website with the current version. The current version is WordPress 3.0. WordPress recommends that you check requirements, back-up your database and disable your plugins before you update.
- Create a strong user password and change it regularly.
- Regularly back-up your website or blog in the case it is compromised. You can install a plugin like WordPress Database Backup that allows users to schedule automatic database backups.
Hopefully, these 3 tips will help you keep your website secure. Do you have a tip to add? Please share your tips below.
